Sept.As part of the SAMIRA action plan, the Commission carried out exploratory work on ERVI in 2022-2025. This work included a feasibility study, a stakeholder consultation, inputs from the ERVI Steering Group and Stakeholder Forum, and several expert workshops. This work has been formally supported by Member States and the civil society. Furthermore, the REPowerEU Roadmap adopted by the Commission last May directed ERVI to strengthen EU production capacities, improve the resilience of the supply chain and reduce dependency on foreign suppliers, in particular Russia, focusing on production of metallic HALEU and stable isotopes. In order to advance the implementation of ERVI, the Commission, Member States and stakeholders should pursue mid-term and long-term actions grouped in five pillars: • Investment in innovative production facilities • Research and innovation • Market monitoring and forecasting • Strategic international partnerships • Evolution of the regulatory framework. Sept.The contracting authority’s OSH overviews typically include the collection, analysis and dissemination of comprehensive information regarding policy, research and practices to support policy makers, researchers and intermediaries to better guide decision making and prioritise resources at policy, research and company level. Through different research projects, an OSH overview contributes to the development and sharing of good practice, both at the level of policy and of workplace intervention. Depending on the focus and scope of the project, they involve literature reviews, case studies, interviews with key informants at policy, research or company level, focus groups, workshops and seminars. This specific OSH overview on CVDs and OSH seeks to improve the prevention of CVDs related to work, the return-to-work (RTW) of workers after a CVD event and the retention at work (RAT) of workers with chronic CVDs. Through the various projects implemented as part of this OSH overview, it aims at investigating the occupational risk factors leading to work-related CVDs, as well as their interplay with non-work-related determinants of CVDs; explore in more depth specific sectors, occupations and worker groups at higher risk; collect data on the burden and underlying causes of work-related CVDs in the EU; identify and assess policies, strategies and programmes, as well as workplace interventions and practices to prevent work-related CVDs, to support the RTW of workers after a CVD or the RAT of workers with chronic CVDs. First findings from the ongoing projects under this OSH overview have consistently identified a critical gap between evidence and practice: while the evidence linking work-related risks to CVD is relatively well established, documented examples of effective workplace-level practices and resources remain scarce. European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA)BilbaoIn 2024 EU-OSHA ran the fourth European Survey of Enterprises on New and Emerging Risks (ESENER 2024) with the aim of providing nationally comparable information on how workplaces across Europe manage health and safety. Substantial analyses of the results of the three previous waves of ESENER, carried out in 2009, 2014 and 2019, have provided a valuable insight into how occupational safety and health (OSH) is managed in practice across Europe; what the main drivers and barriers are; how stress, violence and harassment are managed; the use of digital technologies and its impact on the health and safety of employees ; and how employees are involved. ESENER 2024 has maintained the methodological changes implemented back in 2014 and the questionnaires since then are largely the same too, which enables trend analyses. In each of the three previous waves of ESENER, EU-OSHA published an Overview report of the findings , showing the main results by country, activity sector and size class for the four sections of the survey: OSH management, Psychosocial risk management, Drivers and barriers to OSH, and Worker participation. The programme is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with Nigeria"s Federal Ministry of Power. Its core objective is to foster investments in domestic renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) markets while improving electricity access for disadvantaged, mostly rural communities, including those in conflict-affected areas. Background With a fast-growing population now estimated at 227 million, Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa. With only 60% of Nigeria"s population connected to the main grid, the rest remains unconnected. Power supply shortages do not only affect the living standards of Nigerians, but also the competitiveness of Nigeria"s businesses and industries. In most cases, Nigerians resort to expensive and polluting captive diesel generation to satisfy their power needs. As a result, Nigeria has become one of the largest markets for diesel generators in the world. With its huge natural and fossil resources, Nigeria is Africa's energy giant and energy exports are essential for the Nigerian economy transition. However, due to the destabilisation of oil prices there is an increasing interest by Nigeria to accelerate the energy transition by increasing investments in sustainable energy. The Energy Transition Plan (ETP) that was adopted in February 2022 provides an ambitious, long-term strategy for the energy transition. It builds on the Sustainable Energy for ALL (SEforALL) Action Agenda and its Vision 30:30:30, setting the target to increase power generation capacity to 30 gigawatts (GW) and the RE share in the electricity mix to 30% until 2030. Important climate policy documents, particularly the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and the National Policy on Climate Change, have been updated to show a higher level of ambition. Despite reforms in the past decade, Nigeria"s energy sector still faces significant challenges. On-grid generation is limited by weak transmission infrastructure, while the distribution side suffers from DisCos" liquidity crises and high technical and commercial losses. Electricity demand is estimated at 30,000 MW, compared to an average peak generation of 5,000 MW. To address these gaps, the Nigerian government passed the Electricity Act, 2023, repealing the Electric Power Sector Reforms Act, 2005. The Act decentralises the electricity market, empowering state governments to establish State Electricity Markets (SEMs). It prioritises RE deployment and aims to attract private investment into the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI). Several states are already setting up SEMs, but most lack the tools, skills, and resources to implement them effectively. Therefore, NESP is providing targeted technical support that will focus on the following key output indicators: On-grid (Premium Grids) Output indicators: 1. Identification and mapping of suitable areas for premium grid projects in cooperation with DisCos 2. Promote awareness and experiences with an implemented premium grid project with RE generation component 3. The purpose of this assignment is to conduct a gap analysis of Philippine laws, regulations and policies against the Decent Work in the Platform Economy Convention, 2026 (No. 193). The analysis will identify how the Convention’s provisions are reflected in existing national frameworks, determine areas requiring amendment or further action, and reference relevant national provisions against the corresponding Articles of Convention No. 193, including recommended changes needed for alignment. Deliverables: Deliverable 1: Participate in an online briefing with ILO technical specialists to confirm the scope of work and prepare a two-page outline of the gap analysis. Deliverable 2: Prepare a draft review of national laws and regulations, identifying relevant provisions corresponding to each Article of the Convention and assessing whether these sufficiently, partially, or do not meet the Convention’s requirements. The review shall include a 1–2 page executive summary of key findings for the Government, employers and workers to support subsequent tripartite consultation.
