Aug.The objective of this framework contract is to continue the operation of the CEMS "Hydrological and Meteorological Data Collection Centers" (METEO and HYDRO) in support to the flood early warning and monitoring component of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS) which continues as full operational service as defined in article 51(1.b)) of the regulation (EU) 2021/696 of the Union Space Program. Meteorological and hydrological observations constitute a key input for the European and Global Flood Awareness Systems (EFAS and GloFAS) of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS). The role of METEO and HYDRO is to collect meteorological (Europe only) and hydrological in-situ observations in near real time (METEO only) as well as for historic periods, quality control and post-process the collected observations, manage and expand the data provider networks and further enhance the data collection. CEMS implementation is an interservice arrangement between DG JRC, DG DEFIS and DG ECHO (Ares (2021) 2234141). Sept.The Disease Prevention Unit of the European Commission’s (EC) Joint Research Centre has been assigned with tasks in the field of cancer prevention and rare diseases that include the development of new European guidelines and quality assurance schemes for the six most prevalent cancer sites (breast, cervical, colorectal, gastric, lung and prostate cancer) representing over 50% of the cancer burden in the European Union. The purpose of this procurement procedure is to provide continuity for the collection, analysis and assessment of the underpinning evidence informing the EC initiatives, following a uniform methodological framework. Below is a summary of the work to be performed: The ILO is seeking a lawyer to validate eight regulatory factsheets that summarize the key legal provisions governing migrant workers in the GCC countries, Lebanon and Jordan. These country briefs are produced and annually updated twice and would require legal review and validation after each update. The country briefs cover labour regulations that govern private sector workers and domestic workers, as well as all social protection entitlements migrant workers, including domestic migrant workers, are legally available to them. The lawyer will be expected to apply a desk-based legal review of the briefs and to ensure the original Arabic legal text are accurately interpreted and reflected in the English of these briefs. The selected lawyer will undertake the following tasks: A. Review and verification of legal content: The lawyer will review the prepared country briefs and verify their accuracy ensuring the briefs accurately reflect the legal provisions in the labour law of the eight target countries for both private sector workers and domestic workers. B. Identification of gaps and inconsistencies: Identify where there may be any inconsistencies or gaps of the labour laws in the country briefs.
