Ausschreibungsbeschreibung
The main objective of the Framework Agreement is to maintain the robust and reliable operational access of the climate projection and prediction datasets available at the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) data nodes and published in the Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS). Gradual extension of the technical framework is expected in terms of alignment to the underlying ESGF infrastructure, deployment of more compute services and inclusion of more datasets.

6Copernicus C3S2 410 Multi-model Operational Hydrological Seasonal Prediction Service
European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)BonnThe objective of the Framework Agreement is to provide an operational service to produce timely, high quality, probabilistic global multi-model hydrological seasonal forecast and retrospective forecasts (hindcasts) information, and to make such information available through the Climate Data Store (CDS), in synergy with the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS) hydrological seasonal forecasting component. This service is built on the C3S Global multi-model hydrological Seasonal prediction Service, under a demonstration phase in Copernicus 1, and includes GloFAS seasonal forecasts from CEMS as an integral part of the multi-model system.Copernicus C3S2 430a Maintenance and Development to Support the C3S – EEA Interface: European Climate Data Explorer
European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)BonnThe contract builds on existing C3S activities to make key indicators from the Climate Data Store available within the EEA’s Climate Adapt portal through interactive applications. The objective of the contract is twofold: (i) maintain the existing service to ensure that the user experience is preserved; and (ii) include additional climate impact indicators to EEA users. Such indicators have either been recently published in the CDS, or, if absent from the CDS, will be orchestrated by a toolbox workflow. In addition, the contractor will collate the evolving requirements from the EEA to prioritise and develop new applications and functionality into the European Climate Data Explorer (Climate Adapt) to assist with EEA's member states adaptation reporting.Copernicus C3S2 520 Quality Assurance for Datasets in the Climate Data Store
European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)BonnThe objective of the Framework Agreement is to enhance the quality and efficiency of the C3S Evaluation and Quality Control (EQC) function through the delivery of an efficient and timely quality assurance of C3S climate datasets. The final goal is to facilitate users in the dataset selection and the self-assessment fitness-for-purpose of the selected datasets. The contract will continue the EQC effort addressed in previous EQC contracts during Copernicus 1, evolve the existing EQC concepts and infrastructure already put in place, and further consolidate, harmonise and streamline the entire framework, including its methodologies, procedures and outputs.C3S2 312a Essential Climate Variable Products Derived from Satellite Observations
European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)BonnECMWF, as the entrusted entity for implementing the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), entered into contracts for the delivery of Essential Climate Variable (ECV) products derived from satellite observations. The primarily objective of all five contract is to ensure continuity of high-quality ECV products that are derived primarily from satellite observations and accessible from the Climate Data Store (CDS).Copernicus C3S2 412 Enhanced Operational Services for the Energy Sector
European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF)BonnThe objective of the Framework Agrement is the provision of a service to produce timely, high-quality information for the energy sector; extending the information already available through the current C3S operational energy service to the global scale. The contract will make use of climate data published within the Climate Data Store, for example, the extension of ERA 5 back to 1950, to provide new and relevant bias adjusted climate variables and energy indicators. The contract will also provide enhanced toolbox applications, including those at the seasonal forecast timescales, specific tools and case studies developed with engagement with user communities in the energy sector.Provision of services to support economic modelling of climate change and energy policies: Modelling of non-CO2 greenhouse gases, air pollutants, and LULUCF offsets
European Commission, DG GROW - Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEsBrusselsFrist: 01. JuliThe European Green Deal is the roadmap for making the EU’s economy sustainable. It is a set of policy initiatives with the overarching aim of making Europe climate neutral by 2050. The "Economics of Climate Change, Energy and Transport" Unit (JRC.C.6) of the Joint Research Centre supports the European Commission’s European Green Deal by performing economics-based research in several areas related to energy and climate change. This work includes the development of a reference toolset of economic models and the completion of associated research activities to improve the models' reliability and robustness. The JRC.C.6 Unit is based in Seville, Spain. JRC.C.6 is seeking to strengthen its socio-economic research and modelling capabilities by expanding its coverage of modelling areas and by updating and improving its existing models and toolsets. The unit JRC.C.6 maintains, develops and applies a number of quantitative tools to analyse the impact of different policies on the energy demand and supply sectors, as well as tools for macro-economic modelling. This toolset comprises the EU and global partial equilibrium models POTEnCIA and POLES including their corresponding databases (notably JRC-IDEES), and the global general equilibrium model JRC-GEM-E3. All these tools are able to provide model output in terms of CO2 emissions. The comprehensive modelling of climate change mitigation scenarios requires additional information as regards non-CO2 greenhouse gas emissions as well as on emissions and sinks related to land use, land use change and forestry offsets (LULUCF). Besides, climate action can have important co[1]benefits in terms of reduced emissions of air pollutants and of improved air quality. This Framework Contract aims at supporting the operation of the abovementioned set of models by providing the JRC with data, methods and results relevant for the analysis of non-CO2 greenhouse gas emissions, emissions of air pollutants (including air quality impacts), and LULUCF
