The system will be part of an innovation project that shall enable radiographers at a central command centre to remotely control CT and MR machines, regardless of their geographical location. The procurement will be carried out as a pilot study starting in ordinary clinical operations, with a free trial period of six months and a possibility for termination if the system does not provide the desired results.

The system comprises 42.5 kilometers of track, three maintenance depots, 67 stops and a fleet of 81 light rail vehicles. Luas carried 48.2 million passenger journeys in 2023. Further expansion of the system is anticipated. A more detailed description of the Luas system is given in Appendix A of the IMPQQ Document. It is anticipated that the Luas Operations and Maintenance Contract will commence operations in Quarter 2 or 3, 2026 for a period of seven years from full operational commencement, with an option to extend by up to a further five to seven years. There will be a mobilisation/transition period from the date of contract signing until the operating commencement date. The scope of the Luas Operations and Maintenance Contract will include operation of public passenger services, rolling stock maintenance, infrastructure maintenance (depots, track, etc.) and management and operation of Luas Park and Ride sites. Maintenance of the automatic fare collection system (AFCS) will also be within the scope of the Operations and Maintenance Contract. It is envisaged that revenue risk will be borne by NTA/TII but that some fare evasion risk will be borne by the Operator. Hydrophones are needed for research conducted on aquatic mammals to record their underwater calls and the surrounding underwater soundscape. The specific requirements for the hydrophones are: • Low power consumption, very low self-noise and 60 kHz bandwidth • Long battery endurance lasting up to 160 days • Must be able to provide up to 2 TB of removable data storage • Recording bandwidth of 20 Hz – 60 kHz • Sample rate of up to 192 kS/sec • Must provide a durable titanium housing • Must contain a removable protective hydrophone cage • Must be able to operate in depths of several hundred meter - up to 500 m depth rating • Must be suitable for up to 1 year deployments In addition, the hydrophones cannot be retrieved from depths by diving; thus, a remote release mechanism that brings the hydrophone up to the water surface is needed to accompany the hydrophone. In sub-contract 2, the collection of hazardous waste is also located from and the operation of Vesar's 23 environment stations, which are distributed over the owner municipalities, as well as the operation of the loading station at Rygg. The tenderer is responsible for environmentally good waste disposal systems.
