UN SecretariatKenyaDeadline: Oct 13The United Nations (UN) intends to establish a global systems contract for the supply of UN Blue Berets in support of the accoutrement needs of UN peacekeeping personnel across all missions, for an initial period of three (3) years with the UN's sole option to extend for two (2) additional one-year periods (3+1+1), subject to satisfactory contractor performance. UN Blue Berets are primarily intended to be worn on the national uniforms of military, police, and other uniformed personnel who are deployed from UN Troop and Police Contributing Countries to serve at UN peacekeeping and special political missions worldwide. The items form part of the official UN uniform accoutrement kit, which are issued to all contributed personnel. Global UN duty stations where uniformed personnel may be deployed include UN Headquarters in New York (UNHQ), the UN Global Service Center (UNGSC) in Brindisi, as well as Global Peacekeeping Operations and Special Political Missions (https://www.unmissions.org). The UN Blue Berets are governed by the UN Organization Rules and Regulations as it relates to the use and production of products connected to the UN branding. Bidders are to be advised that UN blue berets are controlled items, and private sale or distribution of any production surplus are strictly prohibited. The sale of these products will only be allowed to UN entities with legitimate purchase orders. Detailed specifications and other contractual terms and conditions shall be outlined in the upcoming Invitation to Bid (ITB). Purchase orders will be issued periodically on an as-needed basis by UNGSC to replenish centralized stock, or as required by the relevant UN Secretariat entities. The indicative estimated annual demand is approximately 38,000 - 42,000 Blue Berets. The bidder must likewise have at least three (3) years of demonstrated experience supplying similar types and volumes of textile or uniform goods at the international level. This requirement forms part of a broader disposal programme covering scrap metal, e-waste, and EUC-controlled/highly sensitive assets, structured as separate commercial lots. This RFI relates specifically to the e-waste component of that programme, covering items such as computers, laptops, servers, printers, monitors, telecommunications and networking equipment, data-bearing devices (hard drives, SSDs, memory cards), white goods/appliances treated as e-waste, batteries, UPS units and circuit boards. Services of interest include: collection and secure transport from designated UN sites; sanitization or physical destruction of data-bearing devices; formal, licensed and auditable recycling, treatment or disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous e-waste fractions; and provision of facility receipts, recycling certificates and final destination evidence. Informal recycling, open burning, uncontrolled dismantling, dumping, or handover to informal processors will not be accepted. Quantities will vary according to operational needs and no minimum volume or frequency is guaranteed. Collection is expected to take place primarily at the LSA2 collection yard, Port-au-Prince, with specific sites, access arrangements and scheduling to be confirmed on a case-by-case basis. This RFI is for information and market research purposes only. UN SecretariatKenyaDeadline: Sep 01Introduction UNON is seeking multidisciplinary professional consultancy services to undertake RIBA Workstages 1 to 6 for a New Car Parking Project at the UNON Complex, Gigiri, Nairobi Kenya, including a feasibility study to assess the most suitable development options. The multidisciplinary services shall include but not be limited to Architecture, Structural & Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (including expertise in Photovoltaic Systems), ICT Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Cost planning and Estimating services and Landscaping. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the requirement, it is anticipated that the services will be provided based on: - A single consultancy which can offer all the disciplines from its in-house capabilities. - A single consultancy which is acting lead as consultant and is offering some of the disciplines on a sub-consultancy basis: in this instance, the lead consultant shall be providing the architectural discipline. - A consortium or joint venture arrangement: again, one company from the consortium or joint venture will be required to act as lead consultant, providing the architectural discipline. Project Scope The final project solution remains to be confirmed and shall be developed through the feasibility and design stages. The preferred solution may include one or more design solutions, but range from the provision of the following options: an open surface car park or carparks; an open two-storey car park structure; or a combined solution incorporating both open car parking and a two-storey car park structure. In all cases, the project will include all required vehicle and pedestrian connections to the existing adjacent site and infrastructure, with the potential to include solar photovoltaic canopies, which would cover the requirements for both parking spaces and renewable power. The project shall integrate all mentioned disciplines and shall cover all required services and infrastructure including the following: Mechanical (Plumbing, Cold Water System, Irrigation System, Wastewater Drainage System, Rainwater and Stormwater Management and Drainage System), Electrical (Power, Lighting, Photovoltaic System, ICT (Wi-Fi, Fiber optic), Security (CCTV, Access control), Public Address (PA) system (Fire Safety, Fire Suppression /Protection System, Smoke Detector System, Alarm System). Scope of Assignment The scope of the assignment comprises full consultancy services, including a feasibility study to assess and recommend the car parking solution best suited to UNON's operational, environmental, technical and cost requirements. The services shall also include but not be limited to site appraisal, preparation and brief, concept design, detailed design and spatial coordination, technical design, construction documents including drawings, specifications and bills of quantities sufficient for tender and construction purposes, services during the tender/ bid process and services during the construction, handover and close out of the construction contract works.
