The new build 75 bed Community Nursing unit (CNU) will consist of 3 floors with 25 single ensuite bed room accommodation to HIQA standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland at each level Ground Floor, First Floor, Second Floor (level 0,1, 2) along with linkages to existing hospital street, new stairways, service lift and new 2 Nr. Bed Lifts, including new carpark areas, etc. Note: on the Ground Floor there will be 10 single ensuite bedrooms which will be allocated to residents with dementia. There will also be extensive re-planning, upgrade works and reconfiguration of the existing district hospital female wing including physiotherapy area within the single storey and the two-storey central building structure, to provide commercial production kitchen with ancillary support rooms, physiotherapy area, laundry, staff changing and Day-care Services, etc; to complete the interface works with new the 75-bed CNU unit on site. The floor area of this project is in the region of 7,960 m2 which consists of the following: Demolishing the existing building structure on site, Construction and fit-out of a new 75 bed Community Nursing unit over 3 floors and roof top M E Plant room include extensive garden areas for the CNU, Refurbishment of the Existing Main District Hospital, Construction of new Car parking areas on site, Construction of a new Sub-station building including generator room and the Construction of a new medical building.
