Tender description
The scope of work for this package consists of design, furnish material, fabricate, test, and deliver (9) vertical concrete volute pumps (based on European Materials, Codes and Standards) for each of the three nuclear power plants (NPPs) planned for the Poland AP100 Project. The Circulating Water Concrete Volute Pump, pumps brackish Baltic Sea water to remove heat from the main condensers in a once through cooling system configuration. There are 9 total concrete volute pumps for the project site (3 x 33% per unit) with a rated flow of 21.3 m3/s (76,668 m3/hr), pump head of 22.5m, and design life of 60 years. There shall be physical model testing and shop performance testing on the pump.

Louth County Council_381DundalkLouth County Council has three closed landfills which are under licence by the EPA. At site Number 1-Whiteriver landfill, there are seven side slope risers each with a leachate submersible pump and level sensor. The depth of these pumps varies from between 30 and 80 metres. The Council as part of licence conditions are required to maintain a level below 1 metre in depth in each side slope riser sump. The lagoon level is required to be below 1.90 metres. All side slope risers and lagoons are linked by level sensors, programmable logic controllers and underground wiring to a scada system. The site is supplied by single and three phase supply. At this site there are several buildings including a weighbridge, internal and external WC, office, store, canteen, engine compound WC, engine compound switch room and engine compound store/office. Each building has lighting circuits and power outlet sockets (note no power outlet sockets in WC’s). In addition, there are several external lighting circuits, hot water boilers, fixed heaters and groundwater pumps. There are seven external control panels associated with the side slope risers and a number of external control panels associated with the aeration unit, surface water lagoon, generator switch over point, electrical kiosks. There are also several internal control panels in the office, weighbridge and engine compound rooms. At site Number 2- Drogheda landfill, there are two sumps used for pumping sewage and surface water. Both have a duty and standby pumps and associated control panels. At the flare compound there are electrical sockets and electrical panel which operates an air compressor. At site Number 3-Dundalk landfill there is one sump with a duty and standby pump plus associated control panel which pumps to the sewer. All sites will require one full electrical test during the duration of the contract and testing of RCBO’s every six months. Ropes and chains are tested every six months. The contract may require the isolation of pumps and the lifting of pumps at Drogheda and Dundalk every six months to facilitate testing and may require chain replacement.Construction Utility Ring (Power/Communications/ Water/ Sewage)

These works are required to support the construction of the Poland Nuclear Power Plant. The scope of work covers the procurement and construction of temporary networks to support the construction of the nuclear power plant located on the Baltic Sea coast. As a result, temporary solutions will be developed for electrical power distribution, communications, raw and potable water, and sewage networks, which will supply utilities to temporary buildings and installations during the construction period. Detailed design will be provided by Bechtel. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: Preparation of submittals for approval of proposed materials, and of construction means and methods. Procurement of required materials for construction of the utility ring power, communications, raw water, potable water, and sewage networks. The estimated quantities of materials specified in the design: Installation of 15 kV MV cable line 12/20 kV cables, including earthworks – quantity: 18 500 m Construction of cable duct system 2 x HDPE Ø40 – quantity: 7000 m Construction of a water pipeline made of PE100 – quantity: 5000 m Construction of a pressure pipeline with a diameter from 110x6.6 mm to 250x14.8, installed by open trench excavation, including all associated earthworks – quantity: 2000 m Construction of the utility ring power, communications, raw water, potable water, and sewage networks in the field in accordance with: Bechtel’s requirements for subcontractors performing work on the project site, including the project safety plan and requirements regarding work hours Coordination with other subcontractors performing work at the project site. Construction work will require survey-layout of the work, and the other requirements as established by the work scope in the tender package, e.g. conformance with the site plan for construction stormwater/erosion-sediment control. Construction of the utility ring networks includes providing all required tools, equipment, labor, supervision, technical and professional services, materials, consumables, and supplies required to complete the installation. The detailed scope of work will be outlined in the tender package documents, including technical specifications, geotechnical data for use in design, and other contractual materials provided to the Company. Details such as environmental controls/requirements/restrictions, site access, laydown space, construction water/power, job trailer accommodation will be addressed in the tender package. Interested parties shall have documented, proven experience in successful construction work on large projects in difficult ground conditions. Subcontractors that will be considered must demonstrate ability to provide equipment and crews of sufficient type and number; and proven experience with all required quality, safety and execution documentation related to completion of the work. Bechtel notes that previous proven work of similar scale and complexity (which includes completion of comparable installations) will be mandatory. Pre-qualification will include evaluation of bidders’ comparable experience on previous similar projects. A Company's submission of Prequalification Questionnaire does not automatically qualify your Company to be prequalified. Bechtel reserves the right to exclude any of the following from this Competitive Bidding process: any economic operator that is directly or indirectly owned or controlled by an entity from a country not covered by the Government Procurement Agreement ("GPA") with the EU; or economic operators who rely in the Competitive Bidding process on capacities of any entities from countries not covered by the GPA with the EU.
