The main purpose of the study is to identify the need for capacity building in local communities in the areas of environmental sustainability, climate action and climate change mitigation and adaptation. Key deliverables will include a detailed assessment of the current training provision available to community organisations in Donegal and to identify gaps in terms of climate related training provision. The consultant will be expected to carry out a combination of secondary desk-based research as well primary research including: • Online or telephone survey of a broad representation of community organisations to establish their current training needs and areas of training and capacity building interests. • Establishment of whether this training and capacity building is available locally, where provided and by whom etc. • In-person focus groups or interviews with a sampling of community organisations to identify needs focusing on building capacity for sustainability and climate action.
