Okt.Mexico is seeking to transition toward a modern flood management model that integrates controlled flood zones, restored floodplains, and nature-based solutions, following recent events that have exposed the limitations of traditional grey infrastructure. In this context, the Tres Culturas corridor in the Tula River basin presents a unique opportunity to demonstrate this shift in practice: a designed floodplain that reduces urban flood risk while generating ecological, cultural, and social benefits. Aligned with the restoration of the Tula River, one of the President’s 100 national commitments, the project has the potential to become a flagship success case and catalyze large-scale transformation in flood management across Mexico. To realize this opportunity, this assignment aims to contract a single qualified party, a principal contractor–subcontractor structure, or a consortium to provide technical and operational advice for the design of nature-based solutions addressing the hydrodynamics of the Tula River in the Tres Culturas Corridor. The settlement is characterized by very high population density, inadequate housing conditions, limited public infrastructure, and insufficient water and sanitation services. The sanitation situation remains critical. Most households rely on shared or informal sanitation facilities, with wastewater and fecal sludge frequently discharged into the surrounding environment. Formal fecal sludge management services are almost non-existent, contributing significantly to environmental pollution, particularly in Banani Lake. Water quality is also a major concern. Widespread contamination of municipal piped water due to leaking distribution systems, illegal connections, and unsafe storage practices exposes residents to significant public health risks, including diarrheal diseases and typhoid. Children are particularly vulnerable. UNICEF, in partnership with Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), the Government of Denmark, the Gates Foundation and other stakeholders, has been supporting innovative sanitation interventions within Korail. However, a comprehensive Karail low-income community sanitation and wastewater management framework, including a clear pathway for integration into Dhaka city-wide inclusive sanitation planning and DWASA/DNCC investment planning, is still lacking. Given the complexity of the settlement, land tenure challenges, and limited municipal service provision, there is a need to develop technically feasible, climate-resilient and scalable decentralized wastewater treatment solutions accompanied by indicative cost estimates and implementation strategies. 2.Objectives, Purpose and Expected Results Purpose: To develop a settlement-level conceptual sanitation and wastewater management plan/ solutions for Karail including, conceptual decentralized/hybrid wastewater management solutions, indicative investment and O&M costing, t through an evidence-based planning process that supports improved wastewater and fecal sludge management and provides a practical pathway for sustainable integration of the settlement into city wide sanitation planning process. Objectives: Assess the existing sanitation, wastewater, fecal sludge management, environmental, and institutional and social inclusion and service delivery contexts in Karail. Develop technically feasible, climate resilient and financially realistic decentralized and/or hybrid sanitation and wastewater management scenarios suitable for Karail and comparable high-density low-income settlements. Aug.The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) seeks to pre-qualify qualified organizations to support the assessment, revision and implementation planning of Protected Area Management Plans (PAMPs) in two pilot protected areas: Chon-Kemin State Nature Park in Kyrgyzstan and a pilot protected area in Uzbekistan (site to be confirmed). The assignment will also support the development of practical Technical Guideline(s) for protected area management planning and landscape-level biodiversity connectivity. The assignment will be implemented over a period of 12 months through parallel and coordinated workstreams in the two countries. The Service Provider shall ensure a consistent methodological approach, common technical and quality standards, and overall coherence across the two pilot areas, while adapting the approach to the ecological, socio-economic, institutional and legal context of each country and pilot protected area. The Technical Guideline(s) shall provide practical approaches and tools for assessing existing Protected Area Management Plans and their implementation; preparing and updating management plans; monitoring implementation and management effectiveness; supporting adaptive management and periodic review; and identifying areas of high biodiversity value and developing strategies to maintain and strengthen ecological connectivity among such areas at landscape level. Government managers also have a need for the preparation and revision of care plans for terrestrial nature types, in line with established templates and standards. The assignments ́s size will vary a lot, from simple care plans, to comprehensive reports. The procurement is divided into the following two disciplines: A. Care Plans: Preparation and revision of care plans for terrestrial nature types, in accordance with established templates and standards. B. Professional basis: Mapping and preparation of professional basis/professional reports/preservation targets for protected areas, species and nature types, including the red-list. Each discipline is further divided into the following geographical areas: 1. South: Agder + Rogaland 2. East: Oslo, Akershus, Østfold and Buskerud + Vestfold and Telemark 3. West: Vestland + Møre og Romsdal 4. Mid: Inland + Trøndelag 5. North: Nordland + Troms and Finnmark Tenderers can choose to submit tenders for one or both disciplines and one or several of the geographical areas. The procurement is divided into a total of ten sub-contracts. The contracting authorities under the framework agreements are the Government Manager's joint services (STAF) and the Government Managers. All national parks and protected areas can also enter into the agreement at any time. Such national park and protected areas are/can be governed by the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
