This is a call to competition by IE for the procurement of a Contractor for the Design and Build of Enabling Works at the DART+ and MetroLink Interface at Glasnevin, Dublin, to facilitate the construction of MetroLink. As part of the Glasnevin MetroLink Enabling Works Programme, a specialist Civils and Structures contractor is being procured to undertake both the detailed design and construction of key enabling works. The appointed contractor will play a key role in delivering the enabling works package, which will be undertaken in advance of, or in parallel with, the main MetroLink M100, M401 and M500 contracts and are critical to reducing programme risk, minimising disruption to existing rail services, and protecting the DART+ Programme.

DART+ is a transformative programme of projects that aims to modernise and improve existing rail services in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA). The DART network will increase from 50 kilometres to 150 kilometres transforming commuter train travel in the Greater Dublin Area. Okt.The Works Contract covers Section 3 of the Belgrade–Niš Modernisation Project, which is divided into four subsections, (subsection 3.2 Stalać – Đunis is already contracted). The works relate to Subsections 3.1 Paraćin–Stalać, 3.3 Đunis–Trupale and 3.4 Trupale–Medjurovo. Subsection Paraćin–Stalać is 20.8 km long, while Subsection Đunis–Trupale is 37.7 km long and Subsection Trupale – Medjurovo is 6.7 km long. A total of ten stations will be reconstructed and modernised to meet the demands of both passenger and freight traffic. The design speed is 200 km/h for Subsection 3.1 and 200 km/h for Subsection 3.3. On the Subsection Trupale–Medjurovo the works include reconstruction of the existing railway line with construction of passenger platforms and underpass at station Nis Ranzirna. Across all Subsections 3.1, 3.3 and 3.4, works include reconstruction of the existing and construction of new overhead contact line (OCL) systems, as well as electrical power installations in stations, tunnels and tunnel entrances, energy facilities, relay stations, sectioning posts (including those with neutral sections), remote control systems for electric traction installations, transformer stations supplied from OCL, and lighting of grade-separated crossings and access roads. During the execution of signalling works in stations, automatic switching of turnouts and train routes will not be possible. Due to the shutdown of station signalling systems, operations will be adapted to a temporary mode. Inter-signal interlocking devices (UMZ) will be used, installed in temporary rooms for train dispatchers, with traffic managed within station areas. Sept.The contracting authority’s OSH overviews typically include the collection, analysis and dissemination of comprehensive information regarding policy, research and practices to support policy makers, researchers and intermediaries to better guide decision making and prioritise resources at policy, research and company level. Through different research projects, an OSH overview contributes to the development and sharing of good practice, both at the level of policy and of workplace intervention. Depending on the focus and scope of the project, they involve literature reviews, case studies, interviews with key informants at policy, research or company level, focus groups, workshops and seminars. This specific OSH overview on CVDs and OSH seeks to improve the prevention of CVDs related to work, the return-to-work (RTW) of workers after a CVD event and the retention at work (RAT) of workers with chronic CVDs. Through the various projects implemented as part of this OSH overview, it aims at investigating the occupational risk factors leading to work-related CVDs, as well as their interplay with non-work-related determinants of CVDs; explore in more depth specific sectors, occupations and worker groups at higher risk; collect data on the burden and underlying causes of work-related CVDs in the EU; identify and assess policies, strategies and programmes, as well as workplace interventions and practices to prevent work-related CVDs, to support the RTW of workers after a CVD or the RAT of workers with chronic CVDs. First findings from the ongoing projects under this OSH overview have consistently identified a critical gap between evidence and practice: while the evidence linking work-related risks to CVD is relatively well established, documented examples of effective workplace-level practices and resources remain scarce.
