The objective of this Agreement is for the development and delivery of a production-ready, open-source regional AI forecasting capability for Destination Earth, designed to provide kilometre-scale, probabilistic and hourly forecasts over configurable European domains for at least five days ahead. The service will support the prediction of high-impact weather events and environmental extremes by combining advanced machine-learning methods, high-resolution regional datasets, ensemble forecasting, and additional Earth system components such as land-surface and ocean-wave processes. Implemented within the Anemoi framework and integrated with the DestinE Digital Twin Engine and Forecast-in-a-Box workflows, the capability will be engineered, validated and deployed to TRL 8 or higher on EuroHPC and AI Factory infrastructures, complementing the physics-based regional Extremes Digital Twin and strengthening Europe’s operational forecasting capacity.

The contract will deliver to ECMWF, as part of WP1, upper atmospheric historical and modern datasets, both in situ and satellitebased. The testing and improving of the representation of the IFS upper atmosphere will be performed both for temperature (WP2, WP4) and also for water vapour (WP3 and WP5) using the recent IFS cycle 50R1 that includes among its additions the capability of ingesting L2 limb H2O profiles. Tests will be performed using data collated in WP1.Provision of High Performance Computing services for interim Irish National HPC service

A replacement system was not available in time and so to maintain computational capability for Irish researchers it was necessary to tender for compute cycles and storage space on equivalent foreign HPC systems which can offer users a familiar environment and enhanced capability for the interim period while the new Irish platform is procured and commissioned. The services provided via this contract (CON1591/2023) are access to a specialist HPC infrastructure and technical support. Researchers are then allocated resources on this platform by ICHEC based on a scientific and technical review of proposals and ICHEC is invoiced by LuxProvide for the amount of storage and compute resources actually used.Copernicus C3S2 412 Enhanced Operational Services for the Energy Sector

Funded by the Department of Health, the NH-LEAD Initiative has been established to strengthen leadership, governance and management capability across Ireland's nursing home sector through the provision of accredited postgraduate education. The purpose of this procurement is to appoint an experienced research organisation to design and deliver a comprehensive mixed-methods evaluation of the initiative over its duration. The successful tenderer will be required to develop an evaluation framework and undertake a longitudinal study incorporating quantitative and qualitative research methods, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, stakeholder consultation, documentary review and other appropriate evaluation approaches. The evaluation should assess the implementation, effectiveness and impact of the initiative at learner, organisational and sectoral levels, providing robust evidence to inform future policy, programme development and investment in leadership education within the long-term residential care sector. The project aims to strengthen quality infrastructure in Africa’s pharmaceutical sector by supporting regulatory systems, harmonizing quality standards, and improving access to safe, effective, and high-quality medical products. The African Union Commission is the project’s political partner. A key partner is the African Medicines Agency (AMA), a specialized agency of the African Union established under the AMA Treaty. AMA supports African Union Member States and National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) in strengthening regulatory systems, promoting regulatory harmonization, reliance, and mutual recognition, while advancing local pharmaceutical manufacturing and health innovation.
