Der "Data Hub" soll ein zentrales technologisches Element zur Schaffung des Wasserstoffmarktgebiets sein, dessen Erstellung und Betrieb wesentlicher Bestandteil dieser Vergabe ist. Der Data Hub soll die zentrale technische und fachliche Austauschschicht für alle relevanten Marktkommunikationsprozesse im Wasserstoffmarktgebiet bilden. Er dient als Datendrehscheibe für den standardisierten, sicheren und nachvollziehbaren Austausch von Marktnachrichten zwischen Marktpartnern. Dabei stellt er offene Schnittstellen bereit, über die Kommunikationsbeziehungen flexibel erweitert werden können. Für die Integrationsfähigkeit werden zudem Konformitäts- und Belastungstests (z. B. Rate Limit Tests, Retry Mechanismen, Stoppbestätigungen) vorgesehen, um zuverlässige Interoperabilität zu gewährleisten. In der BNetzA Festlegung WasABi ist definiert, dass der Data Hub bis zum 01.07.2027 einzurichten ist und danach bis zum 01.01.2028 mit den Marktbeteiligten in einer Einführungsphase zu testen ist. Über den Data Hub wird zusätzlich ein Portal bereitgestellt, das als zentrale Informations- und Zugangsschicht dient. Darüber hinaus unterstützt der Data Hub den Registrierungs- und Nutzerverwaltungsprozess für Marktteilnehmer, einschließlich Rollen- und Rechtekonzepten sowie der Weitergabe relevanter Registrierungsdaten an die angeschlossenen Systeme.
