The PYROCO2 project is a prestigious European Innovation Action type project, funded in 2021 under EU's first round of calls for proposals in support of the European Green Deal. The project has twenty partners from eleven countries, including DTU and process engineering partner Bioprocess Technology SL (BPT, Spain), as well as SINTEF AS (SINTEF, Norway) as the PYROCO2 project coordinator. The main goal of the project is to demonstrate at scale the biotechnological production of acetone by using hydrogen and carbon dioxide gasses as main feedstocks.
