Bufdir heads Bufetat, which is organised in five regions and is responsible for the operation and services of the child welfare service, including child protection institutions, welfare centres for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers and centres for parents and children. To safeguard the needs of residents and employees, institutions and centres must be furnished. Bufetat has documented a need for the furnishing of flame retardant textiles and fixtures. There is a considerable number of fires in the institutions and centres, most of which occur in the resident rooms. Based on this, there is a need to be able to purchase mattresses, fitting textiles and curtains of flame retardating quality. Flame retardating quality of textiles and mattresses will reduce the extent of damage when subject to fire.
