UNICEF has now issued a Request for Proposal in order to select a supplier for the provision of Best Buys Paper for Adolescent Girls' Solutions that deliver acorss sectors. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Gender Equality Action Plan (UGEAP), 2026-2029, outlines the organization’s key commitments to advancing gender equality and the empowerment of all girls and women. Building on UNICEF’s comparative advantages, lessons learned from prior Action Plans, as well as evidence of proven strategies to effect change at scale in the lives of girls and women, this UGEAP sets targets to enhance girls’ and women’s access to quality services across all five programmatic targets of the Strategic Plan. The Global Programme Division (GPD) Gender Equality team provides strategic leadership and guidance on UGEAP 2026-29 and the Adolescent Girls’ Accelerator Strategy 2026-2029, working closely with a global network of staff to support UNICEF to deliver on its UGEAP and Strategic Plan commitments, including targeted commitments to adolescent girls in each sectoral area and through multisectoral, at-scale programming for adolescent girls. GPD Gender Equality team’s priority in 2026-2029 is to focus on scaling up and sustainable financing of the ‘best buys’ in proven policy and programme solutions that advance UNICEF’s targets for tangible changes in adolescent girls’ lives across multiple sectoral outcomes (e.g. education, health, protection, social protection and economic empowerment pathways). While substantial evidence exists on effective interventions within sectors (e.g. education, health, social protection), there is limited evidence and guidance on which interventions deliver combined impacts across outcomes, including pathways to longer-term empowerment and economic transitions. WHODjiboutiDeadline: Sep 10WHO Papua New Guinea (PNG), in collaboration with the National Department of Health (NDoH) is seeking a qualified, eligible and competent proposer for Field Implementation for Papua New Guinea National STEPS Survey 2026 Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) remain one of the leading causes of premature illnesses and death in PNG. The last nationally representative NCD survey using the WHO STEPwise Approach to NCD Risk Factor surveillance (STEPS) methodology, was conducted in 2007-08, and updated data are needed to guide national policies, planning, programme implementation, and monitoring of the country’s response to NCDs. The 2026 PNG National STEPS survey will generate nationally representative estimates of behavioural, physical, and biochemical risk factors among adults aged 18–69 years using the standardized WHO STEPS methodology. We seek to identify an implementing agency with demonstrated technical expertise and previous experience in implementing other large-scale population surveys to support fieldwork implementation at the national level. NDoH will retain overall leadership and ownership of the survey and its outputs, with technical leadership from WHO. The activity entails full implementation of the NCD household survey in PNG using the standardized technical protocol, tools and questionnaire already developed by WHO. The agency will be responsible for fieldwork and data management, including recruitment of field teams and data collectors, training, supervision of fieldwork, and data reporting.
