The Netherlands Ministry of Defence (NLMoD) — Materiel and IT Command (COMMIT) — is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) for the Sea Bed Penetrating Variable Depth Sonar (SPVDS) system. The SPVDS consists of a Low Frequency Seabed Penetrating Synthetic Aperture Sonar (LFSAS), integrated onto an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), intended to detect objects buried in the seabed in support of Royal Netherlands Navy mine countermeasures and Seabed Warfare operations. NLMoD intends to procure between 3 and 5 operational SPVDS systems by 2031. This RFI is a non-committal market consultation to assess market feasibility and interest, and to gather input on suitable contracting structures. No procurement decision has been taken. Participation creates no rights or obligations for either party.
