9LA3349C-DCU-CFT for the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Commissioning and Calibration of Correlative Optical Tweezers-Fluorescence System
Education Procurement Service (EPS)LimerickDublin City University (DCU) request the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and calibration of a Correlative Optical Tweezers-Fluorescence System. The correlative optical tweezers-fluorescence system will be a keystone asset in DCU's research inventory. The instrument will combine optical tweezers and fluorescence microscopy for detailed measurement, visualisation and analysis of biomolecular behaviour. The system will enable a detailed study of small molecule interactions with macromolecular substrates, including nucleic acids, peptides, and lipids, specifically allowing for force measurements indicative of stability and conformation, while also providing microscopy confirmation of conformational changes, binding, and/or other perturbations. Such data will facilitate the development of new therapeutics at DCU.LA3652C - RFT for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of an Advanced 3D Printing Suite (4 Lots) for Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS)
Education Procurement Service (EPS)LimerickDeadline: Jul 16Lot 1: Vapour Smoothing (VS) Machine: A vapour smoothing machine is a post-processing system used to enhance the surface finish of 3D-printed parts. It works by applying controlled vapour to smooth and seal the surface, improving appearance, strength, and durability. It is commonly used to produce higher-quality, functional parts for research and small-scale production. Lot 2: High-Temperature Printer: A high-temperature printer is an industrial-grade 3D printing system designed to produce strong, functional parts from advanced engineering plastics. It is used for prototyping, research, and low-volume manufacturing of components that need to withstand high temperatures or mechanical stress, offering reliable performance and consistent quality. Lot 3: Thermo-Mechanical Analyser (TMA): A TMA is a precision laboratory instrument used to measure how materials expand, contract, or deform under controlled temperature changes and small mechanical loads. It is primarily used in research to analyse thermal properties such as expansion, softening, and glass transition across a wide range of materials, helping to understand material behaviour in different environments. Lot4: Filament Line: A filament line is a small-scale production system used to create continuous strands of material with consistent diameter. It melts and extrudes material into filament, which is then cooled and wound onto spools. It is mainly used to produce materials for applications like 3D printing and research, where uniformity and material quality are important.RFT for the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Commissioning and Calibration of Isothermal Titration Calorimeter (ITC) for Protein Complexes for Trinity College Dublin
Education Procurement Service (EPS)LimerickTrinity College Dublin require the supply of Isothermal Titration Calorimeter (ITC) for protein complexes for the deliverables of a Research Ireland grant. The calorimeter is required for measuring micro-calories of heat evolved or absorbed from protein-protein and protein-small molecule interactions in aqueous solution. The measurement involves multiple injections of ligand (protein, other macromolecules, small molecules) into a cell containing another protein, small molecule, or other macromolecules. The titration is performed under isothermal conditions using a reference cell containing water or related aqueous solution that is similar to the experimental cell. Changes in temperature between the two cells during injections are rapidly equilibrated using active power compensation that is calibrated for calories of heat. The properties of the isothermal titration calorimeter should include the following: (1) The tenderer SHOULD provide a new or recent state-of the-art (ex-demo) model ITC calorimeter, and if ex-demo, it should be minimally used. Volume of experimental and reference cells should be approximately 200 mico-Liters. (2) Typical concentration ranges for analyses should ideally be in the range from 1 micro-Molar to 100 micro-Molar for macromolecules (typically proteins) in the cell, and 10 micro-Molar to 1M concentrations in the injections syringe for the ligand. (3) Preferred temperature range for isothermal titrations from 4 deg Celsius to 60 deg Celsius. (4) software that can analyse data and determine the Kd (dissociation constant), enthalpy, and entropy from analyses of the titrations. (5) Software should handle simple 1:1 binding models, with the possibility to analyse more complex interactions, such as multiple binding sites, sequential interactions. The capability to analyse complex binding with rigor would be a major advantage, as many interactions are not simple 1:1. (6) minimal generation of bubbles or artefactual heat, which may arise from high concentrations of viscous protein in cell (7) Ideally - prefer system/software compatibility with .opj files generated by Origin 7 (or later) software, since we have nearly 20 years of previous data collections. This could be transferred to new control computer for continuity. (8) New computer, drivers, and accessories required to run the calorimeter software.LA3247C - TUS - RFT for the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Calibration and Commissioning of Laboratory Equipment for Complete Circular Bioprocessing and Biorefinery Plant Comprising of Five (5) Lots
