The upcoming campaign will be developed based on the findings and data of a previously conducted sociological research. The specific objectives of the campaign are to: • Increase public awareness of the risks and consequences associated with illegal possession and misuse of WAE; • Promote safe, lawful, and responsible behaviour, including compliance with national legislation and applicable regulatory frameworks; • Encourage cooperation with law enforcement authorities, including reporting of suspicious activities and discovered weapons or explosives; • Support the gradual adoption of European (EU-aligned) standards and practices in weapons possession, storage, and circulation; • Strengthen evidence-based public discourse among civil society, media, and policymakers; • Foster multi-stakeholder engagement and coordination in addressing WAE-related risks.
