Das Monitoring umfasst deutschsprachige und internationale Quellen, einschließlich Paywall-Inhalten. Neben den gängigen Suchbegriffen zur Freien Universität werden Beiträge zu den Themenschwerpunkten Wissenschaft, Forschung, Hochschulpolitik, Berliner Lokalpolitik und universitätsrelevanten Infrastrukturprojekten erfasst. Diese tägliche Auswertung ist für die Leitungsebene der FU Berlin eine wichtige Informationsgrundlage. Darüber hinaus soll eine Zusammenstellung von relevanten Artikeln und Beiträgen (Medienspiegel) täglich an einen begrenzten internen Kreis versendet werden, um die hochschulinterne Öffentlichkeit zu informieren.
