Empa zentraler EinkaufDübendorfThe pyrolysis of biogenic materials is a vast field of research. In addition to biochar, pyrolysis of biogenic materials also produces oils and gases. The pyrolysis products open up new possibilities for CO2-neutral and CO2-negative materials as well as CO2-neutral energy sources. In order to research the possibilities of pyrolysis of biogenic materials, we need to be able to produce large enough quantities at different pyrolysis parameters. Unfortunately, the pyrolysis methods and production quantities are severely limited by the existing equipment. The new plant is intended to expand the possibilities in terms of production quantities and production methods as well pyrolysis parameters for biochar. A key point here is that the pyrolysis plant should be able to handle the widest possible range of source materials.Workplace practices and practical resources for the prevention of work-related cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), return-to-work (RTW) of workers after a CVD event, and retention at work (RAT) of workers with chronic CVDs (2 Lots)
European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA)BilbaoDeadline: Sep 10The contracting authority’s OSH overviews typically include the collection, analysis and dissemination of comprehensive information regarding policy, research and practices to support policy makers, researchers and intermediaries to better guide decision making and prioritise resources at policy, research and company level. Through different research projects, an OSH overview contributes to the development and sharing of good practice, both at the level of policy and of workplace intervention. Depending on the focus and scope of the project, they involve literature reviews, case studies, interviews with key informants at policy, research or company level, focus groups, workshops and seminars. This specific OSH overview on CVDs and OSH seeks to improve the prevention of CVDs related to work, the return-to-work (RTW) of workers after a CVD event and the retention at work (RAT) of workers with chronic CVDs. Through the various projects implemented as part of this OSH overview, it aims at investigating the occupational risk factors leading to work-related CVDs, as well as their interplay with non-work-related determinants of CVDs; explore in more depth specific sectors, occupations and worker groups at higher risk; collect data on the burden and underlying causes of work-related CVDs in the EU; identify and assess policies, strategies and programmes, as well as workplace interventions and practices to prevent work-related CVDs, to support the RTW of workers after a CVD or the RAT of workers with chronic CVDs. First findings from the ongoing projects under this OSH overview have consistently identified a critical gap between evidence and practice: while the evidence linking work-related risks to CVD is relatively well established, documented examples of effective workplace-level practices and resources remain scarce. This call for tenders invites bids for two lots that together address this gap: - field-based case study research on workplace practices with regard to theMetroLink – Environmental Monitoring Services
