1. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) requires the service of Long-Term Agreement (LTA) of a qualified and experienced Contractor for maintenance, deepening and associated works of the operational water wells, as and when required basis, at various UNIFIL positions in Area of Operations (AO) and UNIFIL, HQ, Naqoura in South Lebanon. 2. UNIFIL has 14 Nos, own water wells depth ranging from 100-800m with 10, 12” diameter and 5mm thick mild steel casing. The rotary pipes installed are ranged from 2, 2 ½, 3, 4” diameter with rotary threads. At present, the yield of wells in South Lebanon and aquifer water levels are reducing, due to continuously increasing the number of wells to cater increased population and the demand of water in the area. Furthermore, the unexpected weather changes and experiencing consecutive dry winters during the last several years extremely hot summers caused higher local water level draw-down creating higher maintenance and deepening requirement for the operational water wells. As such, UNIFIL seeks the service of a qualified and experienced contractor, as and when required basis under a Long-Term Agreement for required maintenance, deepening for additional depth 20-100m in different depth ranges and associated works in the range of depth from 100-800m for the water wells at UNIFIL positions. The Scope of Work includes dismantling 2, 2 ½, 3, 4” diameter pipework and reinstalling the same with 2, 2 ½, 3, 4” diameter existing or new rotary pipe works including supply & installation of new pipe works for replacing old pipes as and when required. In addition, the service of well cleaning and drilling machines for cleaning and additional drilling to deepen the wells by 9 5/8” diameter drilling and installing 8” diameter, 5mm thick liner casings for additional depth drilled. Furthermore, the contractor shall supply and install as when required basis new 3*35, 3*50, 3*70 mm armored electric cable to replace the existing cable with accessories (steel cable holding traps and cable connection materials). 3. This Long-Term Agreement shall be for an initial period of one (1) year from the date of its signature, with an option of one additional (1) year extensions, upon satisfactory performance of the contractor, availability of funds and continuing requirement of UNIFIL. The maximum contract duration shall be two (2) (1+1) years.

Purpose Provision of sustainable, resilient and inclusive WASH Services in Cox’s Bazar District. Location Coxs Bazar District – with special focus on Ukhiya, Teknaf and Cox’s Bazar Municipality. Estimated Duration The LTA will be for three years (36 months) – The initial contract will be signed for one year, and subsequent contracts will be based on the availability of funds. Reporting to the Technical Supervisor of this assignment WASH Specialist, WASH Section, UNICEF Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh Background Cox’s Bazar District, which has lower Human Development Index (HDI) indicators compared to the national average, is highly vulnerable to extreme weather events, including heavy rainfall, landslides, flash floods, tidal surges, and cyclones. As a coastal district, it also faces significant saline intrusion. These hazards severely affect vulnerable populations by limiting their access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services; they further degrade the quality and sustainability of WASH facilities, hindering progress towards Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 and the realization of the human right to water and sanitation. Furthermore, these conditions increase the prevalence of vector-borne and waterborne diseases, leading to higher morbidity and mortality, particularly among vulnerable children. The Rohingya refugee crisis has significantly strained basic social services, resources and exacerbated disparities in WASH services among the host population and refugees. Currently, according to MICS 7, only 39.3% of households have access to safely managed water supply services, while 87.1% of households have onsite sanitation facilities without sewerage connection and 72.2% of households have access to basic sanitation services. Furthermore, 68.9% of households have access to basic hygiene services[1]. A 2022 baseline survey highlights major gaps with just 0.3% of the population living in Municipality reached through a piped water network. Fecal sludge management system remains poor, with no Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant for the Bangladeshi population across the district, and 1.1% still practice open defecation[2]. The situation in schools and healthcare facilities is equally concerning. Approximately 80.2% of schools have access to an improved, year-round water source on the premises, while 86.5% have basic drinking water services. Only 57% of schools provide water supply facilities that are accessible to persons with disabilities. Sanitation coverage shows mixed progress. About 61.8% of schools have at least one improved toilet facility located on school premises, and just 34.2% meet national standards (a maximum of 50 students per compartment)[3]. In terms of hygiene, 69.3% of schools have handwashing facilities, but only 44.6% provide group handwashing stations within the premises. Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) shows significant gap with only 18.9% of schools having private spaces for girls and only 12% have emergency MHM materials available[4]. Access to basic WASH services in healthcare facilities (HCFs) remains critically inadequate in Cox’s Bazar. Only 64% of HCFs have water sources available on premises year-round while 28.1% of facilities have at least one improved toilet with provision for menstrual hygiene management (MHM). Only 44.2% of the HCFs have toilets accessible to people with limited mobility. A minimal 6.5% of HCFs meet basic access requirements (usability, dedicated staff toilets, sex-segregated facilities with MHM provisions, and accessibility features)[5]. These works are required to support the construction of the Poland Nuclear Power Plant. The scope of work covers the procurement and construction of temporary networks to support the construction of the nuclear power plant located on the Baltic Sea coast. As a result, temporary solutions will be developed for electrical power distribution, communications, raw and potable water, and sewage networks, which will supply utilities to temporary buildings and installations during the construction period. Detailed design will be provided by Bechtel. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: Preparation of submittals for approval of proposed materials, and of construction means and methods. Procurement of required materials for construction of the utility ring power, communications, raw water, potable water, and sewage networks. The estimated quantities of materials specified in the design: Installation of 15 kV MV cable line 12/20 kV cables, including earthworks – quantity: 18 500 m Construction of cable duct system 2 x HDPE Ø40 – quantity: 7000 m Construction of a water pipeline made of PE100 – quantity: 5000 m Construction of a pressure pipeline with a diameter from 110x6.6 mm to 250x14.8, installed by open trench excavation, including all associated earthworks – quantity: 2000 m Construction of the utility ring power, communications, raw water, potable water, and sewage networks in the field in accordance with: Bechtel’s requirements for subcontractors performing work on the project site, including the project safety plan and requirements regarding work hours Coordination with other subcontractors performing work at the project site.
