Tender description
The services comprise the procurement of consultancy services to examine the future requirements/developments of infrastructure at Casement Aerodrome (Landside), Baldonnel. The Consultants will be required to carry out a detailed infrastructure development Masterplan for the Landside of Casement Aerodrome for the next 20 years. The resulting Masterplan should consider the development of the existing Aerodrome to support current and future operations so that the capacity and efficiency of the facility can be maximised. The objective of the proposed scheme is to provide a transport corridor through the northern hinterland of Dundalk which will cater for growth and development over the 20 year period 2025 2044 during which time the population of the town is expected to grow significantly. The lands to the north of the town centre have been zoned for both commercial and residential use. Additional infrastructure is required to enable access to these areas and also to cater for new locally generated traffic. The proposed scheme will cater for a medium level of development in the future. This scenario is considered the most appropriate level of sustainable development for the aforementioned period. The existing environment consists of a former golf course and agricultural land with a mixture of pasture and tillage fields. The proposed road scheme will allow for development of the lands on both sides of the route and will also help avoid the likely build up of traffic congestion which would occur in Dundalk town centre. Engineering and Environmental Consultancy Services for Nenagh Flood Relief Scheme
Background - The OPW, working in partnership with Tipperary County Council and other Local Authorities, commissioned and have completed the Shannon Upper and Lower River Basin Catchment Flood Risk Assessment and Management (CFRAM) Study. The Shannon Upper and Lower River Basin (‘Shannon’) CFRAM Study Area included Nenagh as an Area for Further Assessment (AFA) and identified that a flood relief scheme for the community would be appropriate to be further developed for implementation. To advance and implement a flood relief scheme for Nenagh, Tipperary County Council, supported by a Steering Group, intends to commission a Contract to develop and assist with the implementation of the Scheme. This Contract will be procured using one Consulting firm (hereafter referred to as “the Consultant”) to progress both the Engineering and Environmental elements of the Tender Specification.
