The designed total length of the bridge is 216.65 m. This comprehensive network is designed to foster connections among individuals via pedestrian pathways, segregated cycle provision and other environmentally friendly transportation alternatives. The enhancement of accessibility and interconnectivity for people walking, wheeling and cycling within this network is anticipated to play a pivotal role in mitigating carbon emissions originating from transport activities. The Council’s objective is to augment the existing 40km network into a seamlessly connected 314km network spanning the entire city. The North Circular Road (Dorset Street Lower to Amiens Street) Active Travel Scheme is one of the projects identified under this initiative. The North Circular Road (Dorset Street Lower to Amiens Street) Active Travel Scheme extends along North Circular Road and Portland Row, between Dorset Street Lower and Amiens Street, for a length of approximately 1.1km. The scheme includes the provision of segregated cycle facilities, improved pedestrian facilities (footpath and junction upgrades), ducting, carriageway resurfacing, etc.. The scheme also includes the upgrade of three signal-controlled junctions to improve pedestrian and cyclist facilities; the three junctions are at Belvedere Place, Fitzgibbon Street and Summerhill. It also ties into two further junctions at Dorset Street Lower and at Amiens Street (The Five Lamps) junction. The scheme comprises the following:- Reconfiguration of Carriageway for Inclusion of Cycle Lanes - Site Clearance - Pavement Works - Kerbs and Footways - Traffic Islands - Public Lighting - Traffic Signs and Road Markings - Drainage Works - Traffic Signals and Ducting - Utilities - Landscaping and Public Realm Works - Bus Shelters (foundations only) - Bike Stands - Temporary Traffic Management. Approximately 2.0 km of new single carriageway mobility corridor extending from the R403 Clane Road to the R405 Hazelhatch Road, incorporating high quality active travel provision throughout. A new 66m long clear span bridge crossing of the River Liffey, designed in accordance with relevant Eurocodes and OPW requirements, with no in stream works required. Segregated footpaths and cycle facilities provided along the full length of the route, including: 2.0m wide one way cycle tracks and 2.0 m wide footpaths on both sides of the carriageway for the majority of the corridor; and a 3.0 m wide two way cycle track and footpath on constrained sections approaching Hazelhatch and Celbridge Train Station. New and upgraded junctions including signalised junctions at the R403 Clane Road, Newtown Road and R405 Hazelhatch Road, together with a priority junction at Simmonstown Manor Road and improvements to the Loughlinstown Road roundabout. Public lighting, drainage and SuDS infrastructure, including roadside drainage systems and attenuation features designed to limit discharge to greenfield run off rates and improve existing flood risk conditions. Landscaping, planting and biodiversity measures, including native species woodland and hedgerow planting, tree planting and integration of sustainable drainage features, delivering a net biodiversity gain along the corridor. Utility diversions, protections and accommodation works, including foul and surface water drainage infrastructure, watermains, ESB, Gas Networks and telecommunications assets, as required to facilitate delivery of the scheme. The Consultant shall undertake an Infrastructure Review in conjunction with Kildare County Council, relevant utility providers and other key stakeholders. Sept.Short description of the contract: Works contract involves the reconstruction and upgrade of the existing Border Police facility located near Markova Noga, in the village of Dolno Dupeni, adjacent to the Greek border. The current structure, originally built in the mid-20th century and previously used by the JNA, consists of three connected modules of varying construction types. Following inspections and structural assessments, the design proposes retaining the left and right modules while demolishing the central section to create a new entrance hall, stairway, and access points. The renovation will include a new roof, upgraded structural elements, and a covered courtyard serving as the main entry and parking area. The interior layout is planned to support the station’s operational needs, including offices, storage, reception, and duty areas, while the new upper floor will house administrative offices, staff facilities, restrooms, and a communal space with a kitchen and terrace. Additionally, a covered walkway will connect this building with the nearby Border Crossing (BC) complex used by both the Border Police and Customs.
