The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering requires the procurement of a thermogrimetric analysis system to support the characterisation of solid fuels and related materials within the PEACEPLUS Clean Air project. The primary purpose of the equipment is to measure thermal decomposition behaviour, mass loss profiles, ash-related behaviour, and combustion characteristics of solid fuel samples under controlled atmospheres. The equipment will support research, method development, and future accredited testing activity associated with solid fuel assessment and emissions-related investigations. The required system must also include provision for coupling to a separately procured gas chromatography–mass spectrometry system for evolved gas analysis. This requirement is intended to establish a robust analytical platform aligned, where applicable, to relevant ISO and ASTM approaches for fuel and thermal analysis.

9CFT - 260187 Supply, Delivery (unloaded and positioned at the point of use), Installation, Commissioning, Training, Warranty and Maintenance of a GC\MS System for Analysis of Evolved Gases and Combustion Products from Solid Fuels - PEACEPLUS Funded
Finance Directorate - Queen's University BelfastBelfastFrist: 12. Aug.The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering requires the procurement of a Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) system to support the analysis of volatile and semi-volatile compounds generated from the thermal decomposition and combustion of solid fuels and related materials. The system will form part of an integrated analytical capability under the PEACEPLUS Clean Air project, supporting research, method development, and future accredited testing activity. The primary function of the GC/MS system is to enable qualitative and quantitative analysis of evolved gases and combustion products, including volatile organic compounds, oxygenated species, and other trace emissions relevant to air quality and fuel characterisation. The system must be capable of operating as a standalone analytical platform and must also be compatible with a separately procured thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) system for evolved gas analysis workflows. The specification therefore includes requirements for interfacing, gas transfer, and handling of low-concentration, transient species.Creation of Framework Agreement for the Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of Science Equipment in 6 Lots for Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board
