R177 Armagh road to R215 Redcow Transport Corridor Link Consultancy Services
The objective of the proposed scheme is to provide a transport corridor through the northern hinterland of Dundalk which will cater for growth and development over the 20 year period 2025 2044 during which time the population of the town is expected to grow significantly. The lands to the north of the town centre have been zoned for both commercial and residential use. Additional infrastructure is required to enable access to these areas and also to cater for new locally generated traffic. The proposed scheme will cater for a medium level of development in the future. This scenario is considered the most appropriate level of sustainable development for the aforementioned period. The existing environment consists of a former golf course and agricultural land with a mixture of pasture and tillage fields. The proposed road scheme will allow for development of the lands on both sides of the route and will also help avoid the likely build up of traffic congestion which would occur in Dundalk town centre. The proposed scheme will include for either a new overbridge or upgrades to existing bridge infrastructure on the Dublin to Belfast railway line and potential junctions, linking to the existing and proposed road networks. - IDA IrelandDublin

R289 Kilcoon Road Realignment - Dromahair Co. Leitrim
The project aims to develop a comprehensive design for the delivery of excavating, realigning, and replacing the existing carriageway. It involves cutting in the existing upper embankment, strengthening the road embankment and pavement, and the installation of a VRS along the outside of the bend where the road section is situated on a steep slope and is showing structural cracks due to slope-side movement. The graded slope should be planted to improve the aesthetic appeal of the road section and to allow it to blend cohesively with the surrounding landscape. The construction of the realignment and remediation works of the slope are to be phased to minimise disruption to travel along the route. Construction will be carried out with the aim to keep one lane operational for the majority of the period of works. Stakeholder engagement, including workshops with key entities such as TII will be a critical component to ensure alignment with broader infrastructure goals. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to enhance road stability and safety, while also minimising disruption to traffic flow and impact on the environment. Works will include the following: • Fencing / Gates / Barriers • Site Clearance • Landscaping • Earthworks • Road Construction • Signage • Drainage • Vehicle Restraint System • Civils works to facilitate above - Waterford City and County Council_103683Waterford
