Die rund 3.000 m² große Spielplatzfläche an der Heiligenröder Straße im Kasseler Stadtteil Bettenhausen soll umgestaltet und erneuert werden. Als Grundlage der weiteren Planung dient der vom Umwelt- und Gartenamt erstellte Entwurf. Ziel der Umgestaltung ist es, einen attraktiven Aufenthalts-, Bewegungs- und Begegnungsort für Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene zu schaffen. Der grüne Charakter des aktuellen Spielplatzes soll weiterhin bestehen bleiben und optimiert werden, sodass eine parkähnliche Anlage entsteht. Der Spielplatz umfasst insgesamt ca. 3.000 m², wobei der westliche Bereich auf Grund des Bestandes von Beuys-Bäumen nahezu unberührt bleiben wird. Alle vorhandenen Spielgeräte werden entfernt und durch diverse neue Spielgeräte (inkl. Calisthenics-Anlage) ersetzt. Eine Kinder- und Jugendbeteiligung ist bereits erfolgt. Zudem besteht das Potenzial die Asphaltfläche im östlichen Bereich zu Entsiegeln (s. Vorentwurf).
