Dundalk Institute of Technology_1155DUNDALKThe existing roof covering membranes to the North Building are reaching the end of their economic life and require replacement. Some areas of the existing roof have insufficient thermal properties due to the absence of insulation and as part of the roofing upgrade works it is proposed to upgrade the thermal properties of the existing structure through the installation of an insulation layer below the new roofing membrane. In addition, the existing M and E Services infrastructure is in need of upgrading and bringing up to modern standards. The scope of works will also includes the installation of roof membrane/flashing to up-stands/parapets to the roof and refurbishment and replacement of existing rainwater goods as necessary. The removal of existing Asbestos containing materials as identified in Asbestos Survey Report including certified removal and disposal of identified materials or any other materials identified during course of works. The removal of both existing roof lights and removal of existing water tank rooms and the reinstatement of the roof structure and coverings to these areas and introduction of new AOV's above stair cores along with the replacement of a number of existing roof lights. Creation of new window opes in existing lecture rooms and provision of windows to same. Works to an existing Plant Room to accommodate larger water tank/ pumps including upgrade of existing structure and enclosure and the boilers in the existing boiler house are to be replaced along with the requirement to insulate the floor in plant area, also installation of new Air Source Heat Pump equipment to augment and replace existing boiler plant. Removal and disposal of obsolete plant along with removal and re installation of other plant and ducting to accommodate the roof works will be required and involve electrical works. The Mortensrud project is a complex multi-purpose project with development in one combined area divided in three fields - fields 10, 11 and 12. The plan area is just under 200 acres and comprises approx. 60,000 m2 gross. Field 10 includes a new nursing home, sheltered accommodation flats, library, leisure club and volunteering, communal garden and town park. Field 11 consists of a new Mortensrud primary school with a cultural school and multi-purpose hall with accompanying outdoor areas and a school park. Field 12 consists of a sports park with an athletics hall, football pitches and a cricket pitch, as well as development of a forestry park etc. To ensure that the project is rigged for start-up in accordance with this plan, Oslobygg is now preparing the establishment of a robust implementation organisation and ownership management. The Mortensrud project is to be considered a mega-project, with a significant scope, high complexity, many interested parties and great social significance. This entails special requirements for capacity and competence in management and execution. A project director is therefore requested with the management staff (resources within finance and risk management, progress management, contract management and other relevant resources in project management) that shall lead the execution of the Mortensrud project, with the support of Oslobygg's resources in the existing project organisation and resources from other departments in Oslobygg.
