Tender description
HSE intends to award new contracts to United Drug and Uniphar for a barcode aggregation service for Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) medicines supplied to hospital pharmacies. Aggregation links multiple medicine packs in a tote to a single barcode, enabling one-scan verification, reducing workload and errors while maintaining FMD compliance. Prior contracts have expired; only these wholesalers can aggregate their own stock due to technical and legal constraints, justifying a negotiated procedure without competitive tender.
