Die N-ERGIE Kraftwerke GmbH plant am Standort Nürnberg-Sandreuth die Errichtung und den Betrieb eines Altholz-Heizkraftwerks für den primären Einsatz von Altholz der KategorienA I bis A IV gemäß der Altholzverordnung (AltholzV). Neben Altholz sollen in geringen Mengen (maximal 8 % des Gesamtbrennstoffdurchsatzes) Siebüberlauf aus der Kompostierung sowie Gärrückstände aus der anaeroben Behandlung von Siedlungsabfällen als Brennstoffe eingesetzt werden. Bei der geplanten Anlage handelt es sich um eine Altholzkesselanlage mit Rostfeuerung und Dampferzeuger zur Erzeugung von Frischdampf für die Fernwärmeversorgung und Stromerzeugung am Standort Sandreuth in Nürnberg. Dem Kessel ist eine dem Stand der Technik entsprechende Rauchgasreinigung nachgeschaltet, welche die geforderten Emissionsgrenzwerte einhält. Der Leistungsumfang von GU 2 umfasst als Hauptgruppe die Maschinentechnik.
