Background: The targeted informal settlements in Karachi and Peshawar face significant deficiencies in water supply, sewerage, drainage, roads, educational facilities and safe, inclusive public spaces. Existing infrastructure is frequently deteriorated, undersized or poorly maintained, limiting reliable access to basic services and affecting public health, safety, mobility and community well-being. To address these challenges, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is implementing a series of infrastructure and basic service improvement projects. The development of roads and plot areas for the dwellings is carried out in a previous contract, and the water and sewage installations as well as electrical infrastructure are carried out to the site border. The buildings shall be constructed with a wooden supporting system. An option price shall also be given for execution with standard railings with an equivalent function.
