Der Auftrag zielt darauf ab, den vorherigen Sentinel-2 Global Mosaic (S2GM) Dienst im Rahmen des Global Components des Copernicus Land Service fortzusetzen und zu erweitern. Hauptziel ist die Erstellung und Verteilung von zeitlichen Mosaikbildern auf Anfrage sowie von landwirtschaftlichen biophysikalischen Produkten. Der Dienst wird auch ad-hoc Anfragen bearbeiten und sich hauptsächlich auf das Gebiet des nachhaltigen Managements natürlicher Ressourcen konzentrieren. Ziel ist die Bereitstellung von Landinformationen für spezifische Gebiete von Interesse für die Europäische Union (EU).
