Upgrade to an existing widefield microscope
The University of Turku / Turku Bioscience Centre started a procurement to upgrade an existing widefield microscope. The purchase is funded by Research Council of Finland, FIRI-grant 26081267. The existing Nikon Ti2-based microscope system was originally purchased following an EU-wide tendering process: HILMA 2016-0016596, TED 2016/S 120-212960. The current procurement concerns a technical upgrade to this existing microscope platform, not the purchase of a new standalone system. The intended Nikon iLas2 upgrade will provide the additional functionalities required to expand the existing microscope into a system capable of advanced TIRF imaging, FRAP, and photomanipulation. These capabilities are essential for the planned smart microscopy workflows at the Turku Bioscience Centre Microscopy Facility. The key technical requirement is that the upgrade must be seamlessly integrated into the existing Nikon Eclipse Ti2 microscope and controlled through Nikon NIS-Elements software. This integration is essential because the microscope is used for automated and adaptive imaging workflows based on NIS-Elements JOBS. The planned smart microscopy pipelines require coordinated control of the microscope hardware, TIRF illumination angle, laser lines, photomanipulation/FRAP module, camera acquisition, filter wheels, and existing data acquisition hardware within a single software environment. Alternative systems that are not fully integrated into Nikon NIS-Elements, or that are not fully compatible with NIS-Elements JOBS, would not meet the technical requirements of the procurement. Such alternatives would compromise the ability to run automated smart microscopy workflows in TIRF mode and would create incompatibilities with the existing microscope platform, software environment, and established imaging pipelines. Therefore, replacing the intended Nikon upgrade with components from another manufacturer or supplier would not constitute a reasonable substitute solution. The “JUPITER Advanced Research Vehicle for Inference Services” (JARVIS) is tightly integrated with JUPITER and will allow to experiment with hardware and software for AI inference, to support the competitiveness of current and future AI workloads in Europe and to support sovereignty. Rothe House: Archive and Collections Project
This project will increase public access to the collections, archives and stories of Kilkenny through the creation of a visible collections store, enhanced archive facilities and improved research access within Rothe House. The existing Collection Store will be transformed from a closed storage area into a publicly accessible visible-storage space incorporating museum-standard storage bays, integrated object display areas, accessible drawers and a public research workspace. Museum-grade marmoleum flooring will be installed and new storage systems provided to improve both collection care and visitor access. Nye Veier AS has over the years used ArcGIS software negotiated by Geodata AS in our business for processing/making map based material. As Nye Veier AS has put considerable effort both economically and resource wise into creating internal map based systems and processing map data, Nye Veier would like to continue to use the ArcGIS software. As a result of this, we would like to procure consultancy services on the ESRI platform from Geodata AS, justified on the basis that Geodata AS is the only actor who offers this as a focused service in Norway. Nye Veier AS sees that ESRI competence can be found at, among other things, consulting engineering companies, but we consider this competence to have a more internal focus to support our own projects and entities more than offering pure competence in the market. The services that Nye Veier would like to procure from Geodata AS during this notice are primarily connected to licences, platform operation, annual follow-up in accordance with the agreed plan, testing of concepts and systems as well as specialised support/training.
