Carra Kitchens is investing in advanced CNC manufacturing equipment, dust extraction infrastructure and supporting software in order to diversify and future-proof the business. The investment will support two new strands of activity: a shared-access "CNC Job Shop" offering local makers, tradespeople and small businesses access to advanced digital fabrication, and a new 3D Parametric Wall Art and Commercial Furniture offering targeting the commercial and architectural markets. The investment will also increase the precision, capacity and efficiency of Carra Kitchens' existing bespoke kitchen manufacturing business. This project will allow Carra Kitchens to: • Establish a CNC Job Shop, providing local makers, tradespeople, students and small businesses with access to advanced CNC manufacturing and digital fabrication; • Enter the commercial and architectural furniture and wall art market, opening up new geographic and sectoral markets beyond Mayo; • Increase production capacity, precision and efficiency in its existing bespoke kitchen manufacturing operations; • Create additional employment in a rural location; and • Reduce material waste through digital, precision-based cutting, nesting and production planning. The purchase is subject to successful LEADER funding approval.
