Die ARA am Twannbach kann die erhöhten Anforderungen an die Abwasserbehandlung im heutigen Zustand nicht mehr erfüllen. Der Gemeindeverband ARA am Twannbach (GAaT) beabsichtigt nun das Abwasser der Gemeinden Twann-Tüscherz, Ligerz, Plateau de Diesse sowie der St. Petersinsel mittels einer neuen Druckleitung von ca. 3'900 m Länge bis in die ARA Le Landeron zur Behandlung pumpen.Im Sinne einer gemeinsamen Nutzung des öffentlichen Raums werden auf einigen Abschnitten der neuen Abwasserdruckleitungen noch weitere Werkleitungen für Trinkwasser (Wasserverband Twann-Tüscherz, Ligerz, La Neuveville TLN) mitverlegt.
