This competition is for the procurement of an inverted microscope that can run routine analyses of cultivated cells. This particularly applies to automatic counting of cells, the proportion of dead cells and morphological changes of cells. An inverted microscope is therefore necessary. There will be many users of the instrument, with different uses and expertise. It is important that the user interface is educational and that the system has KI functions that facilitate the analyses. It is also important that larger objects such as fish larvae (up to 2.5 cm) can be analysed, as well as histological slides. Therefore, we need to have connectivity options to the extra colour camera. We plan to replace the current confocal scanner for use on this instrument at a later date.

LyngbyDeadline: Aug 31This tender concerns the acquisition of a scanning electron microscope (SEM) for a university facility that provides access to an extensive suite of nanofabrication and characterisation tools as one of its core purposes. Due to a recently identified bottleneck in the suite of high-end characterisation in the cleanroom, DTU wishes to acquire a SEM. This problem has arisen as the result of multiple breakdowns among the aging and current instruments thus exposing an unexpected vulnerability in the overall process flow of several of our commercial users. The instrument is intended to meet the characterization requirements of DTU’s key commercial customers. Accordingly, only a high-end system equipped with a field emission source, capable of delivering high emission at low energy spread, will be considered acceptable. The system must provide state-of-the-art lateral image resolution of 0.8 nm or better at an accelerating voltage of 15 kV, and 0.9 nm or better at 1 kV, both achieved without beam deceleration or sample bias and using the in-column secondary electron detector. The SEM must be compatible with samples originating directly from customer production processes and must therefore be capable of handling wafers with diameters of up to 200 mm. Typical substrate materials include silicon, fused silica, and quartz. These materials cannot be coated to reduce charging effects during SEM analysis, and the instrument must therefore be capable of imaging such non-conductive samples without the application of conductive coatings.Upgrade to an existing widefield microscope
University of TurkuTurun yliopistoThe University of Turku / Turku Bioscience Centre started a procurement to upgrade an existing widefield microscope. The purchase is funded by Research Council of Finland, FIRI-grant 26081267. The existing Nikon Ti2-based microscope system was originally purchased following an EU-wide tendering process: HILMA 2016-0016596, TED 2016/S 120-212960. The current procurement concerns a technical upgrade to this existing microscope platform, not the purchase of a new standalone system. The intended Nikon iLas2 upgrade will provide the additional functionalities required to expand the existing microscope into a system capable of advanced TIRF imaging, FRAP, and photomanipulation. These capabilities are essential for the planned smart microscopy workflows at the Turku Bioscience Centre Microscopy Facility. The key technical requirement is that the upgrade must be seamlessly integrated into the existing Nikon Eclipse Ti2 microscope and controlled through Nikon NIS-Elements software. This integration is essential because the microscope is used for automated and adaptive imaging workflows based on NIS-Elements JOBS. The planned smart microscopy pipelines require coordinated control of the microscope hardware, TIRF illumination angle, laser lines, photomanipulation/FRAP module, camera acquisition, filter wheels, and existing data acquisition hardware within a single software environment. Alternative systems that are not fully integrated into Nikon NIS-Elements, or that are not fully compatible with NIS-Elements JOBS, would not meet the technical requirements of the procurement. Such alternatives would compromise the ability to run automated smart microscopy workflows in TIRF mode and would create incompatibilities with the existing microscope platform, software environment, and established imaging pipelines. Therefore, replacing the intended Nikon upgrade with components from another manufacturer or supplier would not constitute a reasonable substitute solution.
